“Oh Hero, you are our most favourite horse. You and your family are welcome in our kingdom.” said Princess Pollyanna as she welcomed the leader of the herd. Pollyanna loved horses and you could tell just by looking at her that she had a special bond with them; she even had a long pony tail.
Her cousin Ariadne was more reserved, but she would always do what Pollyanna did and so she also stepped forward and said, “Welcomed beautiful herd.”
“Now that you are in our kingdom” Pollyanna continued, “you must tell us about your adventures. You must tell us all about how you escaped that sorcerer who entrapped you.”
“What is that you say? You are really a Prince and that you tricked the sorcerer to turn you into a horse so you could escape and cross the Great Russian Steppes to come to me, your one true love!”
“Oh Hero, you are so brave and clever; but I can never marry you, you are still a horse and I am a Princess.” Said the Pollyanna in a sad voice.
“Wait a minute”, Pollyanna perked up, “There must be a way to change you back into a Prince. I’ve heard that a kiss from a True Princess will break any evil spell.”
Ariadne added, “I know it works on small things like frogs, but will it work on horses?”.
“He is my one true love”, Pollyanna said with passion; “I must try to save him and turn him back into a Prince.” She then leaned closer, held his neck and placed a big kiss there.”
“It didn’t work!” cried Ariadne, “Try again!”
Pollyanna kissed his neck a few more times, but this time with gusto.
“It didn’t work!” cried Ariadne again, “Maybe it’s because you’re not a real Princess. Can I try?”
“I am a real Princess!” shouted Pollyanna annoyed. “My dad said that my mom was the Queen of Drama, and I’m her daughter so I am a real Princess, a Princess of Drama!”
Author’s Note: These enchanted horses constantly roam the plaza just outside the main Aachen train station; the various princesses come and go.
