Just north of St-Catherine, on St-Marc is this mural of wild horses called “La fontaine de Bartholdi”. It was inspired by the fountain of the same name in Lyon France; (the four horses represent the four major rivers in France).
It was created in 2016 by Dodo Ose of the A’Shop Collective.
Further up the street is a new mural called Kaléidoscope, created by Benny Wilding of the A’Shop Collective in 2017. This mural depicts some historical highlights of the Peter McGill district, and Montreal in general. Notice the St-Joseph Oratory, symbols of Expo 67 and the Montreal Maroons hockey club and Expo 67.
I like how serene this Montreal Maroon player looks; Wikipedia states…
“The Montreal Maroons (officially the Montreal Professional Hockey Club) were a professional men’s ice hockey team in the National Hockey League (NHL). They played in the NHL from 1924 to 1938, winning the Stanley Cup in 1926 and 1935.”
